WAZ Media Group purchase GY-HM100 camcorders
WAZ Media Group is one of the largest media groups in Europe, operating in ten countries and managing over 500 publications. The
company has bought JVC GY-HM100 camcorders for its video journalists, providing the tools to deliver the fast
turnaround times necessary for producing web media. The GY-HM100s will be used out in the field, together with laptops for editing, enabling them to produce quality footage and meet
tight deadlines.
“After extensive testing, we found we liked the easy handling and the quality of the camera,” says Oliver Multhaup, WAZ New Media Director. “The flexible data formats made
editing easier for us – since we use Canopus Edius as well as Apple FinalCut, we now have the best possible video format for each system with the GY-HM100.”
JVC's GY-HM100 and GY-HM700 camcorders are the industry's first professional models to record files directly to
solid state media in the
native format used by Apple's Final Cut Pro™
editing system. This allows recorded material to be edited directly from inexpensive, readily-available SDHC Class 6 memory cards, without file conversion or transcoding, dramatically
reducing the amount of time required to edit programmes together and offering the fastest shoot-to-edit workflow available.
