Tapeless camera workflow for videographers from JVC

At this year’s IOV conference, JVC will be showing its professional tapeless cameras and multi-format LCD displays. The GY-HM700 and GY-HM100 camcorders uniquely record directly to inexpensive SDHC memory cards in the QuickTime (.MOV) format for Final Cut Pro™ and in the .MP4 format for use with other professional editing systems. The GY-HM700 also records optionally to SxS media compatible with Sony’s XDCAM EX™ format. Recording in the editing system’s native format eliminates the time consuming transfer step and dramatically speeds up the post-production workflow, a major advancement for JVC and the industry.

DThe IOV, The Institute of Videography, is a UK-registered, not-for-profit limited company, which is owned by its members and managed by a board of elected Executive Members. The IOV’s main objective is to keep up-to-date with the rapid-changes within the media industry, while embracing new technology and catering for the needs of both video professionals and the media specialists.

The IOV conference, which is on 14th-15th October, will also play host to JVC’s recently-launched SR-HD1500 Blu-Ray Disc and HDD Recorder. Users are able to transfer videos from a camcorder or other device to its internal hard drive. Then, using a simple, menu-driven interface, edited clips can be assembled into a completed project and recorded to Blu-ray discs – ideal for wedding videographers. Discs can also be authored for auto-start or repeat playback, which provide ideal options for presentations, kiosks and point-of-sale displays.

The tapeless camcorders will be connected to the DT-V series of HD multi-format LCD monitors at the IOV show. These displays - ideal for critical OB and studio applications and widely used throughout the post and broadcast industries - feature a superimposed waveform monitor and improved latency of less than one frame, and are ideal for studio monitoring applications.

Please visit the JVC stand at Hall 2, Ricoh Arena, Coventry CV6 6GE, to talk to our experienced professionals who will be there throughout the show to answer any questions.
